Type-A queens, typing routines, and brunch with goats
May the glimmers always be this sweet ✨
I’m officially one month into my year-long lessons project, and if you were to ask me how it’s going, I would pause before I answered. During that pause I would overthink every possible reply: Should I answer how things are going creatively? Or whether the project is helping me manage burnout? Should I share how readers seem to be responding to it? Or divulge whether it’s resulting in an influx in paid subscribers? Should I ... oh no, I’ve paused too long.
I know that I would do this, because I have done this. A few friends and kind folks have asked how the project is going so far, and instead of answering them directly, I’ve overthought their question to the point where I ultimately answer with something simple and nondescript like, “Good!”
One of the reasons I love being a writer is because I’m able to express myself more clearly by putting words onto the page. I’m able to take the many jumbled thoughts that often crowd my mind and turn them into something coherent and clear.
So here's how it’s really going.
