At 61 I’ve never had cause to create a power point presentation - and never learned computer anything in school! Now, because of a position with a non-profit, I was asked to do so. With help from my daughters and a lot of trial and error, I finally hit the “send” button last night!! It was a huge relief to finish it - and that created my happy moment for the day! I guess you really can teach old dogs new tricks.
We're in the throes of moving, living and working from home in a house that is completely torn apart. Clutter is an anxiety trigger for me and moving-clutter—since it can't just be put away and cleaned up, rather thoughtfully packed and placed in a box with coordinating clutter—is the worst kind. 🙃 The process is always worth it, but it's been wearing on me a bit. "Tell Me Something Good" is now on repeat in my mind and is shifting a little glee into grumbles over packing, as I'm keeping the *good* about our exciting move, to a place near the beach, in view over the task at hand. Thanks for the pick-me-up! 💛
Something good... and continuing the song lyric theme... I stepped out this morning to walk my dog, Zoey, and it was misty-raining... this song popped into my head... “... feel the rain on your skin...” https://youtu.be/b7k0a5hYnSI (I may or may not have started watching The Hills after Laguna Beach wrapped... I have a daughter; it was our “guilty pleasure” show 😁)
That was something good. I love the rain. Rain makes memories.

If you find me in the rain without an umbrella, leave me be.
Here for the shameless brown-nosing 😉😉😂 Thank you, Gerard!
And I also love that you and your daughter watched Laguna Beach & The Hills together. How fun! We all need a good guilty-pleasure activity to remind us not to take life so seriously all the time. 🩵
I love this! I do something similar with my partner and it's such a beautiful way to end the day. When I hear "Tell me something good" I think of the Ryan Adams song which is a bit darker haha but the sentiment is the same. I love this refrain as a ritual. Thank you for this inspiration!
This is so awesome I plan to quote a lot of it in my newsletter this week (which goes out on Friday). Maybe you’ll get some new subscribers as a result. I hope so!
Thank you - I LOVE this. I want to start using this in some specific situations I'm thinking of. I'd also like to make it part of my bedtime ritual! I've had a hard time getting gratitude journals to stick too, not because I'm not grateful but more of a timing thing.
One good thing right now - I just went for a walk in the gentle mist and it felt wonderful.

Way to go, Karen! Proud of you!!
I just cross-posted this to my newsletter. I just love it. Thanks again! 💜
So cool! Thanks, Sue!
Similarly, though not always everyday, we ask each other, "what was the best part of your day?"
Tell me something good! Love. It.
Such a lovely post! Thank you for sharing! 💜
What a lovely thing to do and to share! Thank you Katie!
Thanks for reading!
What a really lovely idea, Katie - thank you so much for this beautiful tip!
Aw, you're very welcome!

I love that it helped a little, Lewann! And I'm sending you lots of strength as a fellow clutter-anxiety sufferer!

Oh, and at the risk of looking like a shameless brown-noser, this newsletter was also something good that happened today. 😃

🎶 I’m coming clean 🎶... we’re not even gonna mention the Lizzie McGuire phase! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha, I am here for all all of this, Gerard!

Oh, I forgot about that song! Now I have to work on my Ryan Adams' singing impression, haha
So wise. One must always look for the upside.
Indeed. And thanks for becoming a paid subscriber, Jed. That means so much!
This was such a fun read! Love the positivity!
Thanks, Tahia!
