You’ve hit the nail on the head re social media & dissatisfaction with ourselves. It’s a destructive rabbit hole, believing everything we see on social media when in fact, most of the photos are carefully choreographed and can hide a mountain of pain & sadness. I absolutely loved Mare of Easttown! Winslet was brilliant, as usual, and I loved that she looked normal. Like any of us, with her life etched on her face, grabbing a beer from the fridge after a tough day (although I’d choose an ale or stout, not a lager!). I then watched The Undoing with Nicole Kidman & Hugh Grant. What a difference the in portrayal of ageing! Yes, Kidman is beautiful, but perhaps she’s not as expressive as Winslet. It just didn’t feel the same as Winslet’s gritty performance. Embrace your imperfections! We have one body to carry us through this life, and some days it shows more than others! I highly recommend the documentary Embrace, available on Netflix, I believe. Thanks for your post 🙂 I’m not a subscriber as yet as my income isn’t so reliable at the moment but when it settles down you’ll be on the list!
