I got this piece of advice a few months back, but I think about it often and I very much needed to hear it. After a last-minute cancellation (on my part) of a scheduled phone call with a friend, citing that I simply didn't have the energy for it, she sent me a text message saying: "I know you're strong and I know you have your people, but remember that you don't have to do it alone."
No pressure to catch up at a later date, no guilt for my last-minute bail out, just a comforting, virtual hand on the shoulder, telling me that it was OK to lean on other people, when I needed it. I'll never forget that text message!

Oh, I love that! I think we all need that reminder these days.
